This afternoon we brought An and Anthony to McCarran Airport in Las Vegas . For An and Anthony the trip has ended, for Nick and myself the trip starts tomorrow heading back home.....well first to San Diego and then back East to Orlando......we'll keep you updated !

This afternoon I went with Nick to the car museum at the Imperial Hotel on the strip. Beautifull collection of 300 cars you can see there. Tonight I went with Nick to the Luxor Hotel where we went to see the front entrance glass door ,where Criss Angel threw a signed card in between the glass at his arrival at the hotel, prior to his first show.

Back in Las Vegas An & Anthony depart to Orlando.

Today is the last day of a great vacation, 3 weeks, that flew by like one. Good things always come to an end and go to fast. Danny & Nick will drive back with the RV and Anthony and myself will fly back to Orlando today. It will be up to Danny to keep us posted on his journey back to Florida. He is planning to drive to San Diego and return from there. This way he literally drove from East to West. I am sure that we will read all about it. I keep my fingers crossed for them to return safe, as they cross the country East to West. To celebrate our last night and Danny's upcoming Birthday we decided to go back to the great restaurant '' Mon ami Gabi'' in the Paris hotel. (Las Vegas) It must be 4 years ago where Danny celebrated his 40th surprise trip with his friends here in Utah. Time flies.... Enjoy everyday to the fullest as we never know what tomorrow may bring. And of course the whole strip belonged to belated Michael Jackson. (died at 3.15pm L.A time on Thursday June 25 2009) The big screen billboards all had messages like these. Yes he will be missed.

Boat tour to Rainbow Bridge the largest natural bridge in the world

Believe it or not, we are on the border line of Utah and Arizona, both with 1 hour time difference. So when I am standing outside the RV the time is 1 hour earlier then inside the RV. This caused for the necessary confusion ofcourse. We had a set appointment to go on the boat tour and realized after 30minute Wait that we were dealing with the time difference. We were an hour to early, that does not happen a lot : ) The boat tour took us 2 hours up and 2hours back and we had 1 hour for the hike to the rainbow bridge. This land is still owned by native Indians. It was funny to see that we had to stop with the boat for a small boat to pick up the mail as people were living in a small place in the canyons only reachable by boat. Again nature is stunning and to much for words. Here some pictures so you can get an idea of what it is like here. Tomorrow we are off back to Vegas. Can you see the white line on the canyon? these are the level where the water should be or was.

Do you see the small canyon opening? That is where we are going, major high canyons with small entries just to fit the boat.

and there she is... it looks not large, but believe me it is, there is still alot of space between were we are and the bridge is. She is at a hight of 290 feet in the air and 275 feet wide. The top is 33 feet wide and 42feet thick.

Lake Powel what a place!

We arrived at Lake Powel, and it is getting harder each day to pick the most beautiful place from our entire trip. We stopped at the visitors center and went on a tour of the Glenn Canyon Dam. It is always worth to stop at the visitor center to pick up some extra information about the area as well as their great free maps & news letter. Most visitors centers are very new and modern, we usually also see the movie presentation about the area. Some of them will have dinosaurs tracks, info and pictures about the animals in the area. Best of all you can get all the advice you may need while staying or visiting the area. Tomorrow we are planning to go on a (day) cruise to see the famous rainbow bridge. Apparently the largest natural bridge in the world.

Arches to Monument Valley via bridges national parks.

Yesterday was our last day at Arches so we finished this gorgeous park with a 2.5 hour water rafting trip on the Colorado river. I am writing this blog now outside under a 1000 stars, it is Sunday night 9.16pm and the sky is lit by these flickering stars, I have never seen that many stars, I know pollution must be the main cause for blocking the stars at night. It is only at these moments that we realize where and how we live. When traveling with an RV trough a country like this, from one national park to another makes you realize that we are doing it all wrong. Then again I am sure it will only take a day to set us back to our stressful schedule. Today was a day of mostly driving with a stop at, Natural Bridges and views that would only be seen in a John Wayne movie. Everybody who knows me knows that I like 5 star hotels with nice clean beds, fancy bathrooms, good restaurants and room service, nevertheless I would recommend this to anyone. It is a very relaxed way of traveling, it might take you a few days to get used to the laid-back way of traveling. There is no time, have to or must...yo will get where you will get, you are hungry you set up and prepare your lunch-diner what ever. The kids want to make a campfire, or run around and be kids, it is all possible. The best way to do this is, assign enough time, plan a route, and go for it, call camp grounds as you go...

Yes we did make it, just put your brains to zero and go for it.... slow though : )

Moab / Arches adventures.

Moab is a very cute town, with some good restaurants, lots of different adventure choices, typical shops, the Colorado river, red mountains on one side snow mountains on the other. We have started with a Small hike to the windows and went for ATV ride in the afternoon. We even found some Indian & dinosaur tracks.

The 2.5 hour ATV ride was definately worth it! Just a bit dusty I would say : )

The Wild Wild West!

After a strong (pancake) breakfast we drove of for a visit at the famous Arches national park. We actually bought a $80, 00 pass for all national parks in the USA. Not only can we use this for all park entrances, we can even ass this along to our friends or family. I do not understand why people would still pay individually as this is a deal you can't resist. One park is usually about $25.00 so if you are visiting 3 or 4 you are better of to buy a year pass. Every time I think I have seen the most beautifully national park a new one comes a long. This country really is unbelievable when it comes to nature. Our hike today was very challenging and I needed to take a break at least 4 times going to the top, nevertheless it was again breathtaking. We went all the way to the top to delicate arch, it is just so different. I do not know why it was so hard for us as we have done hikes much longer and steeper then this one. Maybe it was the time of day, or the continuous climbing.Wall paintings from between 1650's to 1850's
