From Bryce over Grand Staircase Escalante to Capitol Reef.

Yesterday we departed from Bryce Canyon over the Grand Staircase Escalante national monument via the scenic byway 12. Highway 12 was chosen as one of the top ten scenic byways in the US. The highway ascends to 9200 feet elevation. This scenic route is just stunning, scary, but stunning...you think you are literally at the end of the world. The scary part is that with an RV you get the feeling you are hanging high over the cliffs. It was several times where I closed my eyes, although the views where so breathtaking. believe it or not the trip was only about 98 miles it took us nearly 4 hours to get to our destination Capitol reef national park where we will go hiking today. It was worth every minute, the scenery is to much for words and I recommend anybody to take this route. Check out http://www.scenicbyway12.com/
Can you see the people walk below?

It is unbelievable that plants can grow on this dry land

Escalante the view is endless, I cannot even give you an idea of how wide the overlook is.
